Trails are slowly beginning to open for high country adventures in Southwest Colorado:
The deceptively warm weather of March and April gave us all the impression the four wheel drive roads would be opening early this year.
Mother Nature, however, had her own plan. As we welcome afternoon showers with pleasure, knowing the moisture will bring beautiful flowers, we also must acknowledge that when it rains in Ouray, it's probably snowing at the top of Imogene.
Because of this, the passes might open a little more slowly, but that just adds to the pleasure of traveling the high country once summer truly arrives!
A few roads in the lower elevations are open already though, and more to come: Keep checking in with us at the Box Canyon Lodge & Hot Springs for up to date information regarding jeep trails!
