Photographers and sight seers alike enjoy Blue Lakes, one of the most popular hikes in Southwest Colorado.

There are several options, from a short 6 mile round trip to the lower lake, make a day of it, and hike to Blue Lakes Pass, about 11.5 miles, or, climb up and over from the trail head just past Yankee Boy Basin, allowing for spectacular views on the descent into the basin.

The Wright Opera House Presents a new Melodrama this July and August!

In 2007, a group of voluteers  formed the 'Friends of the Wright Opera House', a non profit group focused on the restoration of the historic entertainment venue.

From acclaimed musicians and performers to movies and local productions, the Friends of the Wright have successfully begun to achieve their goal of making the theater a crowning jewel for the City and County of Ouray, providing arts, entertainment and culture for all.

The last Monday of July and through August 15, the Wright Opera House brings us a new and entertaining Melodrama:  The Great Ice Cream Scheme!

The Baldy Peak Trail is a beautiful hike with unbelievable views of the Uncompahgre Plateau, and on a clear day, all the way to Grand Mesa.

The weather was on our side again this year, so we expect yet another epic firework display. As the Volunteer Fire Department fires illuminations into the sky above town, there are few places you will see such an awesome show!
