Halloween is on a Monday this year, which means the whole weekend before is dedicated to a scary good time in Ouray County!
Ouray Colorado Vacation Guide and Trip Planning Information for SW Colorado
After a long and busy summer in Ouray, it’s nice to take a deep breath, relish, and enjoy the slow, easy going moments. What does our little mountain town offer after the kids go back to school and everyone goes home to look back at all their fun-filled photos spent on vacation in southwest Colorado? Cooler temperatures throughout the day means wonderful hiking weather with beautiful sights of snowcapped mountains and golden, rustling leaves. A few of my favorite day hikes are the Perimeter Trail, Sutton Mine Trail, and Blue Lakes – all of which offer amazing views within the San Juan Mountain Range.

Just because Halloween falls on a week night this year is no reason to stay in. In fact, it just means there are so many more options to celebrate and dress up! Spend a weekend with us at the Box Canyon Lodge and take in some entertainment!
Wondering what to do in Ouray on the last weekend of October? Well wonder no more! The Wright Opera House and other local venues have a full calendar of entertainment ready for you.
Despite recent snowy weather, many four-wheel drive trails are still open in Ouray County!
October has arrived, and we are all closely watching the high country as the first snow covers the peaks. The fall colors have begun to fade, as mother nature prepares for the colder weather.
