Ouray Trail Run: 14 Mile Loop Circumnavigates Best Town in Colorado
Southwest Colorado Trail Run in September
The Ouray Trail Run returns for the fourth year on September 24, 2011 and will be a 14 mile undulating loop on trails around Ouray. This event covers some challenging terrain.
While running the route, people will enjoy many trails that serve as hiking trails throughout the year. The first major ascent heads up the Silver Shield Trail and heads back down the Twin Peaks/Oak Creek Trail. The best views on the entire loop happen near the intersection of the Silver Shield trail and the Oak Creek Trailhead. The Ice Park Loop serves to give the runners a short break until the runners head over to the Baby Bath Tubs / Portland / Cascade Falls section.
The race scenery will include some fantastic fall foliage and plenty of coniferous trees to make it absolutely beautiful.
The Box Canyon Lodge & Hot Springs sponsors this event; we would love to invite you to attend.
There are other trail running races in Ouray throughout the summer and fall so make Ouray your Trail Running Headquarters!
