Welcome to the Great State of Colorado!

Ouray County is located in southwest Colorado in the heart of the San Juan Mountains.  Ouray is about 300 miles southwest of Denver.  The closest airport to Ouray is Montrose Airport (MTJ). 

Ouray makes an excellent stopover or a base camp on a trip to Southwest Colorado.  Although Ouray is tiny, it is mighty.  Park your car and enjoy walking all throughout town.  Ouray is unlike most towns of its size; it is 8 blocks long and 8 blocks wide but Ouray has 20 restaurants, 50+ shops, and numerous activities and attractions to keep you interested for several days.  

A short walk from our hotel takes you to the Box Canyon Falls and the Ouray Ice Park.  If you like high mountains, let us arrange a jeep tour or jeep rental for you and your companions to see the spectacular alpine scenery.  Visit our hiking page to learn about the incredible trail system that exists in Ouray County.  Check out our scenic drives page for ideas on day trips and other locations in the general area.
