Mt. Sneffels Marathon and Half Marathon, August, 2017

The 17th Annual Mt. Sneffels Marathon and Half Marathon is one of the most scenic marathons in the country.

3339-1.jpgA race suited for all levels of competitors, Mt. Sneffels runners are running for a great cause: the Mt. Sneffels Education Foundation, providing support for educational opportunities for our Youth in Ouray County.

As always, in addition to the full Marathon, there will be a Half Marathon, a Half Walk Half Run option for the Half Marathon, and a Kids Fun Run!

Registration for any of the races is open until Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 12PM

 

Day of race August 12th:

 

marathonmap.jpgMarathon starts at 6:30 am Ridgway Solar Ranch Park -

Beginning in Ridgway, Colorado, runners will travel south along County Road 23 to County Road 17, to the town of Ouray. The course travels through the town, looping back around at Fellin Park, and returning to Ridgway by the same route. There is about a 700 foot elevation gain on the first leg, dropping back to 7000 on the return half of the run.

Half- Marathon Registration and packet pick up starts at 6:30 am, Fellin Park -

Race starts at 7:30 am - Following the same route of the full marathon, the 13 mile half marathon begins in Ouray at Fellin Park, traveling through town, then following County Road to County Road 23, and descending into the town of Ridgway, finishing at the Solar Ranch Park.

Kids Race registration and race 10:30 am Solar Ranch Park -

3505.jpgThe kids race is a great way for little ones to take part in the fun, and get a taste for running. A one mile course, beginning in Solar Ranch Park in Ridgway will certainly make for a fun run! The entry fee includes snacks at the finish line, half price admission to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool and to the Box Canyon Falls and an official race tech shirt.

Throughout the morning (starting from approximately 10:30am), bus transportation will be provided from Solar Ranches park (Ridgway) back to Ouray Hot Springs/Fellin Park. Participants who finish the marathon,and half marathon will be awarded finisher medals.  Age group winners can pick up their awards at the award table under the tent at the finish line. Prize money awards will be given on the main stage of the Ridgway Rendezvous at noon at the Ridgway town park.
