Ouray Colorado Vacation Guide and Trip Planning Information for SW Colorado
The sport of Ski Joring is gaining popularity as a high adrenaline winter sport which involves a cowboy, a horse, and a skier. Racers and riders alike depend on the speed and capability of their entire team, as the horse races an obstacle course through the snow, pulling an expert skier who is gathering points as he navigates jums and challenges at high speed. The rider is taxed as he guides his mount in sometimes treacherous conditions to greater speed, while at the same time ensuring the safety of the hitchhiker on skis behind them.
